SENIOR COUNSELOR: Vacant Apply Today!
Senior Counselors are American Legion Auxiliary members who volunteer for this busy and physically demanding week of challenges and personal rewards. Junior Counselors and Senior Counselors work as a team to help supervise and work with a group of up to 38 citizens to ensure that they are working through the various requirements of the program. Senior Counselors are not required to be alumnae of the ALA Aloha Girls State program. Senior counselors also mentor a smaller group of girls as they work on drafting legislation. Not versed on government and politics? Don’t worry-training is provided! The program will provide you with meals and board. Senior Counselors will be expected to pay for their own staff polo shirt. It is necessary to conduct criminal background checks on all staff selected to attend this year’s program because of the tremendous liability.
Collegiate Credit may be available for those selected for this position!
COUNSELOR: Vacant Apply Today!

SECRETARY:
Sets up and runs ALA Hawai'i Girls State office. Computer skills knowledge of PowerPoint and word processing required. Completes ballots for elections, writes daily ALA Hawai'i Girls State newsletter. Assists with apparel sales and inventory. Prepares bank deposits daily. Packs and inventories office at end of session. Assists Chairman with other duties as needed. Download the Central Staff Application to apply for this position.
ALAHGS COORDINATOR OF MERCHANDISE AND APPAREL:
Sets up AGS store with apparel and merchandise. Knowledge of computers helpful. Opens store to citizens for memorabilia purchases. Moves boxes of merchandise, conducts inventory. ALAHGS COORDINATOR OF ACADEMIC AFFAIRS:
Responsible for explaining elections, election process, serves as liaison for Political instructors. Assist Political instructors with curriculum development. Provide training to staff on duties as Committee advisor. May be a Party advisor. Download the Central Staff Application to apply for this position.
ALAHGS NURSE: Vacant Apply Today!
Sets up medical center. Reviews medical forms for completeness and to identify special needs of citizens. Available 24/7 to citizens and staff. Logs citizen complaints, interventions and outcomes. Communicates with family in case of emergency. Triages and transports to urgent care if needed. Conducts final inventory and packs medical center at completion of session. ALAHGS PARLIMENTARIAN: Vacant Apply Today!
Review with staff proper parliamentary procedure. Oversee Parli-Pro workshop. Present parliamentary procedure at general session. Mentor party advisors on Parliamentary procedure throughout week. ALAHGS COORDINATOR OF MEDIA AND TECHNOLOGY: Vacant Apply Today!
Take pictures of events throughout the week. Upload to computer. Assist in developing yearbook. Perform regular updates to ALA Hawai'i Girls State blog and website. Email updates to parents and families throughout the week. Create State of the State slide show. Knowledge of PowerPoint and/or other image editing programs.
