American Legion Auxiliary Scholarships

The ALA provides several prestigious scholarships, with applications due annually by the end of February. These opportunities are hosted on the ALA national website and are open to eligible candidates from current high school seniors, non-traditional students and current college students.
Spirit of Youth Scholarship
For Seniors in High School
Candidates for this award shall be/shall have been Junior members of the American Legion Auxiliary, have held membership in the American Legion Auxiliary for the past three consecutive years, and must be a paid member for the current membership year. Applicant must continue their membership in the American Legion Auxiliary during the scholarship period.
Children of Warriors National Presidents’ Scholarship
For Seniors in High School
15 -$5,000 scholarships awarded to students across the country
Non-Traditional Student Scholarship
One $2,000 scholarship is awarded annually per Auxiliary geographic division. Applicant may be pursuing training in a certified, trade, professional, or technical program, or a two-year or four-year degree program.
Participants who successfully complete the American Legion Auxiliary Hawaii Girls State program in its entirety and finish in good standing will be eligible to apply for the following scholarship opportunities:

SAMSUNG American Legion Scholarship
FOR PARTICIPANTS OF ALA HAWAI'I GIRLS STATE - MUST APPLY PRIOR TO ARRIVAL AT PROGRAM
Must be accepted to ALA Hawai'i Girls State to qualify.
To be eligible:
Scholarship applications are restricted to high school juniors who attend the current session of either The American Legion Boys State or Auxiliary Girls State program and are a direct descendant - i.e. child, grandchild, great grandchild, etc. - or a legally adopted child of a wartime veteran who served on active duty during at least one of the periods of war officially designated as eligibility dates
for American Legion membership.
