What is the purpose of ALA Aloha Girls State?
The purpose is to promote pride in America, and increase understanding of how our government is intended to operate. Delegates will learn this by creating a mythical state that the citizens will govern at the city, county and state level. Speakers who serve as leaders in our Hawai'i government, hold important offices in our communities, and experts in their fields will give delegates insight, and substance to carry with them far beyond our week of ALA AGS.

What if my daughter decides not to go?
If she is the delegate and has received the official notification letter; we need to be notified immediately. We can notify an alternate who is "waiting in the wings" for the opportunity to go. If someone does not tell us and "just doesn't show up", the auxiliary unit or the contributing organization forfeits the tuition which is estimated over $800. The auxiliary unit, contributing organization and the high school, as a courtesy, will be informed.
