Step 2:Once the Online Application is Submitted, an EMAIL will be sent with further instructions.
Interview: After Initial applications are reviewed applicants will be notified of their application status. Those that are identified as advancing to the interview stage will receive an email with additional information. |

Send this link to your two selected references. Remember references should be professional, think teachers, employers, coaches, etc. Family members are unacceptable references. SItems that will be required for interview:
1. Please have a copy of proof of citizenship ready to attach to your interview packet
2. You will be asked to submit a 250-300 word essay (describing how the opportunity of attending the ALA Aloha Girls State would be beneficial to future civic leadership)
3. One photo of yourself
4. Select Two references to complete Letters of Recommendation on your behalf (these are electronic.)
5. Medical information forms
This entire packet will be filed with registration information for selected delegates, and retained for the mandated time frame for those not selected, and destroyed in accordance with organization policy.

EligibilityEligibility Requirements:
-Applicants must be legal residents of the United States (two forms of id required). -Applicants must be able to be present during the entire program June 1-2 (not permitted to leave group for any reason). -Applicants must be an upstanding student and community member. ALA Aloha Girls State Eligibility requires that all participants must be "unmarried female students who have successfully completed their junior year of high school and who have at least one more semester remaining before graduation." "Participants are to be selected on the basis of merit and ability." ALA Aloha Girls State welcomes all races, creeds, colors, religions, national origins. Applicants will be accepted from all neighbor islands and while travel to 'Oahu is not covered, transportation from Honolulu Airport to the program can possibly be arranged. SelectionAccepting Applications
OPENS: January 1, 2017 CLOSES: May 26, 2017 Delegates to ALA Aloha Girls State are chosen by an application and interview procedure. A confirmation email will be sent to all applicants to announce the decision of acceptance. Should additional contact be made by the ALA Aloha Girls State Staff, it will be made through email. Be sure to check your email often! The application process has two stages: 1. INITIAL APPLICATION Due May 26: Which can be completed online (please see link above). 2. INTERVIEW / ESSAY Application: Qualified delegates will then be selected and contacted for personal interview, which includes written application packet. Interviews will be held April 17th at the University of Hawaii - West Oahu. Please make arrangements to be available should you be selected for an interview. Delegates will be announced via email by May. |

INTRODUCING ED1900 Clemson University has partnered with The ACE Network and your state program to offer you college credit in conjunction with your participation this year. The course, titled Leadership, Citizenship and Community Service (ED 1900), is a three credit hour course which can be transferred as elective credit to any university that you choose to attend. Understandably, accepted credit is a decision ultimately made by each specific institution. The ACE Network was founded by Girls State and Boys State programs throughout the nation simply to accomplish its namesake purpose to “Advance Citizenship Experiences” of Girls and Boys State participants in every state. This affordable and quality college course is one of the key proud accomplishments for this organization.
